
About The Team


The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office Rifle Drill Team is rooted in drill and ceremony and works toward perfection with the M1-grand rifle. The team boasts 20 volunteer Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office Deputies assigned to the detention facility. Team members do not receive pay for performance or practice. Each member is expected to be above reproach and exhibit espier décor through work ethic and as a team member must project qualities that demand excellence.
The team through the support of Sheriff Chuck Wright, the American Legion, Churches and the community preformed over 37 times in 2017. The team has competed nationally in Washington DC during police week, to date placing at its highest 3rd in the nation. The team performs upon request at churches, schools, outdoor events and one of the greatest honors of performing at the World War II monument in Washington DC for Honor Flight. The team has been operating for seven years. It has, over time, perfected what is known as the “Table Ceremony” evolving it into a much larger production. The Production now known as “Tears Folded Inside” incorporates drill and ceremony. The drill aspect show cases drill movements with the M1-Grand rifle. The ceremony is customized into two types of service, either the fallen officer ceremony or the fallen military serviceman.
Each ceremony is dedicated to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ who is always portrayed during our productions. The team is currently entertaining request for overseas performances and is attempting to secure funding. The team operates on donations, love offerings and monies collected through fund raising. Monies collected are used for travel expense, lodging, equipment, uniforms and general maintenance. The team uses a GoFundMe account as a supplement to expenses.
